Talisker Skye and Indonesian Surabaya 69

With its smoky rich characteristic, this whisky – made at the only distillery on Scotland’s Isle of Skye – has a similar weightiness on the palate as the Indonesian Surabaya 69, and remarkably similar flavour notes. Soft, fruity caramels with smoky notes in the background.
They are like old European royal families, Kings in their own countries, but closely related.

Washed rind Soft Cheese with Milk of the Gods

Choose a washed rind cheese with a well developed sticky orange coating and a soft creamy centre. You can expect wild aromas and creamy rich sweetness. Tallegio for example has a strong aroma, but a comparatively mild flavour with an unusual fruity tang.
Milk of the Gods is a dark milk chocolate, made with the Venezuelan Rio Caribe cacao, arguably the King of Cacaos. Silky smooth with exquisitely layered notes of nuts and coffee, it gives and extra dimension to the cheese.

Gooda style cheeses with Chulucanas Gold 70

Find strong aged gouda style cheeses with caramelised, smoky notes and crystalline crunches. Parmesan is also good. With them pair Peruvian Chulucanas 70, an adventure in taste from the mountains of the Morropon province of Peru. The native Criollo beans have distinctive notes of raisins and plums which mimics the classic flavour pairing of grapes and cheese.

The sleepy village of Rio Caribe lies on the magical Caribbean coast of the Paria Peninsula. The extraordinary trinitario bean grown there has astonishing depth of flavour with its coffee and nut notes.
